These beautiful Danish-inspired ladder-back chairs prove that good design never goes out of style.

The graceful lines, gently curved back rails, and warm wood have made this style a favorite for generations. While I'll confirm the species once they're in the shop, they appear to be teak or another beautifully figured hardwood, and the grain deserves to be the star.

At some point in their life, the original woven seats were replaced with a synthetic cord. It served its purpose, but after years of use one seat finally gave out.

Rather than simply replacing it with another woven seat, these six chairs are getting a whole new look. We'll be removing the synthetic weave and upholstering each seat in genuine full-hide leather.

There's something special about real leather. Every hide has its own character, natural markings, and texture that simply can't be duplicated. As it ages, it develops a rich patina that only gets better with time. Combined with the warmth of the wood, it's going to give these chairs a timeless, handcrafted feel.

Some furniture is worth preserving because of its quality. Some because of its history. These chairs were both.

This set of **eight Louis XVI Revival dining armchairs** has been in our customer's wife's family for well over 100 years. Through the generations they gathered memories, celebrations, and plenty of wear, but they still had many years left in them.

After being referred to us by one of our longtime customers, we were honored to help write the next chapter of their story.

Each chair received structural frame repairs, rebuilt eight-way hand-tied spring seats, new high-density foam cushions wrapped in Dacron, a careful polishing of the original wood finish, and beautiful new upholstery in the fabric our customer selected. While the fabric wouldn't have been my first choice, that's the beauty of custom upholstery. Every project reflects the personality and vision of the family who will enjoy it for years to come.

There's something especially satisfying about seeing heirloom furniture returned to daily use instead of being tucked away or replaced.

One of the unexpected blessings of owning Furniture Rescue is the friendships we've built along the way. Some customers become regulars. Some become friends. And sometimes those friendships last for years.
