Our Story

GoldenEd was founded by Daniel Asamoah Amo, a Ghanaian native. Daniel is a graduate of the Salisbury School in Salisbury CT and attended the University of California Santa Barbara on a full athletic scholarship. Daniel currently plays for the Los Angeles Force, Los Angeles CA. Daniel’s life changed when he was granted the opportunity to attend school while living with an aunt at Sunyani, in the Brong-Ahafo Region. Prior to this experience, Daniel was never able to attend school consecutively due to his family’s inability to fund his education. It was the generosity of an uncle, a professional soccer player in Ghana, who made the life-changing decision to invest in Daniel’s education. Daniel’s tuition was paid for two semesters and he was given the required textbooks and school supplies needed to achieve life-changing.

Daniel’s hard work in the classroom and soccer field earned him a call up to present his regional school team in a tournament. Through the regional tournament, Daniel was recruited to join Sporting Club Accra and then the Right To Dream Academy where he got a scholarship to continue his education at Salisbury School in CT, a prestigious independent school in America, and then attend UCSB on a soccer scholarship. Daniel was able to get out of poverty and hardship as a child because a generous uncle paid attention to his education. Education opened doors for him and made his future possible. That is why Daniel founded GoldenEd to give back to these kids who are going through the same hardship and challenges he faced growing up.

Daniel, said: “I know not all of them are going to be blessed enough to have the opportunity to come to the US to study. with the help of many contributing to the tools they need to succeed in life, they have a chance to move forward and make a difference in their lives and Ghana. It is my hope that the relationship GoldenEd is building between its partner schools in the US and Ghana, that the schools are able to interact with each other, share knowledge, and help contribute to a brighter future for these children who lack the importance of education.” Daniel is the first member of his family to have a high school diploma and to step foot onto a college campus. For Daniel, this served as a motivation for him to give back to the children in Ghana by supporting their education.
