The penultimate event of the season for the JDM Plates Ma7da Championship takes place at Oulton Park on Saturday.
Martin West leads the way and has a chance to wrap up the title an event early. He has taken five victories this year and is 22 points ahead of Craig Land. Should he claim a first and second in Cheshire, he could be champion before Mallory Park.
Land has won three times this year and is ahead of double Cadwell Park winner Tom Coller in the points standings. They have both taken seven podium finishers to West's nine. Dave Bowen is fourth and leads those who are looking for their first win. He has claimed a couple of podiums so far.

Our 3rd race weekend of the season. A triple header weekend at Cadwell Park!
The weekend was very hot! 🔥
Throughout Friday test day as I became more familiar with the track, the lap times kept dropping. With some very competitive times by the end of the day!
Qualifying on Saturday morning we qualified P14 for race 1 and P9 for race 2, from 23 cars.
Race 1 on Saturday afternoon was definitely dramatic. With a terrible start, the car just didn’t seem to want to go off the line! Dropping down to 18th by the first few corners. However I fought my way back up to 11th to take the checkered flag.
Race 2 on Sunday morning, P9 on the grid. A much better start off the line got me up 2 places into 7th. However half a lap later a red flag came out after some of the race leaders came together.
Gridded back up into grid position for the restart. And again another stunning getaway seen me gain 3 places into the first corner. 2 laps later I was ruining in 6th, trying to defend to some much faster cars that were behind, the race got red flagged once again due to another incident. Therefore the race result was not classified as we didn’t complete enough racing laps.
Later in the afternoon, we re-ran race 2. Another good start seen me gain one place. However during this race it started to become more obvious I had been lacking some power throughout the weekend, and as other cars were picking up the pace, I simply wasn’t able to keep up down the straights exiting corners.
Race 2 I finished P15.
The track managed to squeeze us in at the end of the day for our race 3 at 6pm Sunday evening.
Starting P15 on the grid, I did everything I could to make up places with a power issue that was becoming more and more obvious, however only managed P13.
We definitely had the pace to be well up into the top 10 positions without the power issues.
