Scotland Day 5 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿: Today was a big travel day as we drove from Edinburgh to Isle of Skye. It might be the most gorgeous drive I have ever seen. Jacob took about 5 million pictures but I didn’t see much of it since I drove. And if you have ever seen Scottish roads…the speed limit is 60 and the roads barely fit 2 cars….but you still pass buses and rvs and all sizes of vehicles that you have to play chicken with sometimes and someone has to pull over to get through. And the roads are insanely winding 🤯 Luckily we made lots of stops along to way so I could pry my grip from the steering wheel periodically 🤣

We stopped at a 1600s old water mill that was used to grind flour for the local village until the early 1900s. It’s now the cutest coffee shop and still has self guided tours of the mill and all its equipment.

We also made a lunch stop in the most beautiful setting…rumor has it the house across the loch where we were sitting was owned by the sheikh of Dubai. We also stopped at a trailhead and explored and walked a bit and took photos. Which ended up being the site of a battle between the British and the Jacobites.

We also stopped at a beautiful shop that had all kinds of foods, clothing made of lambs wool, cashmere and leather, home goods, a bakery, and of course whiskey. Jacob had an admirer who blushed every time he talked to her about something (she worked there) and we all joked he could marry her for citizenship since we have all decided we want to live here 😆

We made it to Skye and ventured to the local grocery store (Co-Op) and are excited for tomorrow and exploring the island and castles!
