🌙Fellow PMU & Medical Tattoo Artists… Actually ANY professionals that take clients …..HELP!!
I’d love your input on something that came up recently.

A client booked a consultation with me - Everything went wonderful and they booked an appointment for medical tattooing. At their appointment, they showed me a photo of another artist’s work and asked me to create that exact look. The challenge? It wasn’t my style at all. It really threw me off, especially because they didn’t bring it up at the consultation.

It got me thinking…

When clients bring inspiration photos that don’t resemble your portfolio, how do you handle it?

Do you adapt your technique to match the reference photo, or do you explain that every artist has their own style and that your work will naturally reflect your own approach?

I always want my clients to love their results, but I also believe they chose me for a reason. Trying to replicate another artist’s signature style doesn’t always produce the best outcome—and it may not even align with how I work.

I’m genuinely curious how others navigate these conversations. Where do you draw the line between using inspiration and staying authentic to your own artistry?

I’d love to hear your thoughts and experiences. 👇

✨ SCAR CAMOUFLAGE TATTOOING ✨

These photos show a facelift scar before and immediately after a scar camouflage treatment.

The scar appears a little pink and inflamed right now because the treatment is fresh. As healing takes place over the next several weeks, the color will soften and blend more naturally with the surrounding skin tone.

One of the most common questions I get is, “Can my scar be camouflaged?” The answer depends on the scar itself. Light or hypopigmented (white) scars can often be successfully camouflaged with custom pigment matching. Darker or hyperpigmented scars typically require a different treatment approach before camouflage tattooing can be considered.

Every scar is unique, which is why a consultation is so important. Together, we can determine the best option for your skin, scar type, and goals.

Scar camouflage isn’t about perfection—it’s about helping scars become less noticeable so you can feel more confident in your skin. 💕
