I haven't had a chance yet while wrapping up The Showdown Half Marathon to take nice photos of the prototypes for New Years Double, but a reminder that there are less than 30 spots in the half or full marathon each day and 50 spots in the 5K each day before the next entry fee increase!! Enjoy a look at the medals of the past, then get on registering!
We change the theme every year (even the year we did clocks, we changed from a daily clock to showing the different moon phases). Here are the medals over the years, shown in the largest of our 3 Challenge Plate options, the Double-Double Plate. So there is a medal for the 5K each day and a medal for the half and full marathon each day (ribbons show half vs full), and those who do a 5K and a half or full BOTH days get the Double-Double Challenge Plate.

NEXT UP! New Years Double! And at the speed people are registering, entry fees will go up soon, so register today! http://newyearsdouble.athlete360.com (50 spots left in 5K & 30 spots in the half&full marathons before prices increase).
We have a 5K, then a half and full marathon New Year's Eve morning to end 2019 active, then we have a 5K followed by a half and full marathon New Year's Day morning to start 2020 active. Pick any combo of distances to run, but some combos will earn you extra big and hefty bling in the form of our Challenge Plates!

HALF MARATHON PACE TEAM SHOUTOUT! Drew Pelletier and Ellis Emerson will be pacing the 3:30 finish time.
"This is Drew. And there are many Jeffs in the world, and many Toms as well. But this... is Drew. You may be thinking, And...? But are you Drew? No you are not. Neither is Scott Baio Drew. Frank Gifford is not Drew. But this... is Drew. The Running bug hit in February 2011 when he did his first half marathon. Since then he has done over a hundred of them and several marathons , a ton of 5 and 10K's for the heck of it. The Active Joe, Rock and Roll and now Disney tend to be where most of his race money is spent, and for good reason. Drew belongs to the Rock and Roll Gypsies, NTX Runners, Black Sheep and Hogwarts Running Club. People seem to like running with him, he can't tell you why. Not the slightest clue. However if you want to find out, come see him at The Showdown!"
Ellis started running after the birth of her daughter, initially to lose baby weight and then later to find new boundaries of strength. In the past 5 years she has completed over 50 marathons or longer and numerous half marathons. She enjoys meeting other runners and encouraging them to reach their own limits. Her personal philosophy is that our only limits are ourselves and that philosophy saw her through 135 miles to a Badwater135 finish last year. She can be found singing or laughing her way through miles—sadly for you though, she can’t really sing, so that might be motivation to run faster. For her, running isn’t just about finish lines—but the people and journey along the way!
