For years, websites have used robots.txt to block unwanted bots—now Adobe wants to give creators the same kind of control over their images.

With its new Content Authenticity App, Adobe is empowering artists, photographers, and designers to add content credentials—metadata that proves ownership and signals that an image shouldn’t be used to train AI models.

🔹 Upload up to 50 images at once
🔹 Add your name + social media handles
🔹 Mark them “Do Not Train” for GenAI models
🔹 Even works outside Adobe’s own ecosystem

Adobe is also teaming up with LinkedIn to verify user identity, and releasing a Chrome extension that detects these credentials—even on platforms like Instagram that don’t support the standard natively.

But here’s the challenge:
🔍 No major AI company is yet obligated to follow these signals.

Adobe’s move is a big step toward transparency, but unless AI companies actually respect this metadata, it’s still up to the tech giants to do the right thing.
