Hi neighbors! We’ve seen a few recent conversations around the possibility of keeping backyard chickens, so we wanted to provide a quick clarification for everyone in the Lost River community.
While the City of Horace may be discussing changes to allow chickens within city limits, it’s important to note that Lost River has its own set of covenants that all homeowners must follow.
Per Lost River Covenants – Article IV, Section 11:
“Other than household pets kept for non-commercial uses, no animals, livestock, poultry, or insects of any kind shall be raised, bred or maintained on any of the Lots.”
This means that even if the city allows chickens, they are not permitted within Lost River due to our neighborhood covenants.
