The firmament show his handiwork.”

POWER

The evidence of God’s power is all around us.
Every aspect of creation is its expression.
The starry night proclaims
The infinite power of the Creator,
The ocean depths are startling expressions
Of variety and intricate planning.
The awesome mountain heights dwarf mankind
And magnify God’s greatness.
The multiplicity of flowers, trees, and grasses,
Fruitful plants and sustaining grains -
The bounty of the earth speaks
Of God’s power and provision.
Obvious power,
Coupled with glorious provision,
Proclaim the Maker,
Prepare us to be humbled by His love,
Inspired by His message.
The gospel is God’s power to save.

The mountains are full of sound.
The profound sound of silence fills the air,
The wind whispers to the trees,
The grass waves as the world speaks.
Raindrops silently strike the pond,
Sheets of rain drown out all else,
Passing to reveal the clarity of creation,
Rocks and trees, flowers, streams of water, shafts of light.
The air is cleansed, sweet and cool,
Sun breaks through clouds,
Streams of light shine on cliff and forest.
Green surrounds, dark in trees, bright in ponds,
Interspersed with rock, supporting waving flowers,
Nodding to passing time and undefinable beauty.
The mountains reflect God’s beauty,
Reveal His presence,
Call to the spirit,
Humble the mind,
Fill the senses,
In all, through all, for all.
God indeed is near.
