This is the kickoff day for our grand promotional 7 day launch of my new books about prayer. The first book, Hope, tells my story about how God taught me about prayer by giving me a mountain to pray for, healing me from stage 4 and reoccurring lymphoma 30 years ago. I also share a little about my journey from atheism to Christianity, from skeptic to believer, and from scientist to preacher. Have you been told or heard that when you pray, if you name it, then claim it! That never worked for me. And as I studied about prayer in the Bible, it seemed rather clear to me that "name it and claim it " prayers are more about pride and control than about humility and dependence. I sympathize with the desire to reconcile the promises in the Bible with personal experiences. That is why I asked God to teach me about prayer.
