Chukwudi Iwuji is a Nigerian-born actor whose talent has earned him international acclaim across theatre, television, and film.

Born in Nigeria and raised in the UK, Iwuji trained at the prestigious Yale School of Drama and built a strong foundation in theatre, becoming an Associate Artist with the Royal Shakespeare Company.

He gained worldwide recognition for his powerful performance as the High Evolutionary in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (2023), earning a Critics Choice Super Award nomination for Best Villain (2024).

On television, he has appeared in acclaimed series including Peacemaker, When They See Us, and The Underground Railroad. Most recently, he stars in The Day of the Jackal, further cementing his presence in major international productions.

A celebrated stage actor, he won an Obie Award for his performance in The Low Road, highlighting his excellence in theatre.

Maryam Hassan, A Nigerian That ROCKS: Nigeria’s Voice of Peace on the Olympic Stage

Maryam Bukar Hassan made history at the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony, where she was selected to help carry the Olympic flag, one of the highest symbolic honours in global sport. Her selection recognised her powerful work using spoken-word poetry to promote peace, unity, and youth empowerment worldwide.

Beyond the Olympics, Maryam has earned global recognition as a peace advocate. She was appointed the first Global Advocate for Peace by the United Nations, where she uses storytelling and performance to champion gender equality, social justice, and the voices of African youth. She has performed at major international platforms, including the UN General Assembly and global leadership forums.

Her presence at the Olympic ceremony wasn’t just ceremonial; it was historic. Maryam Hassan carried not just a flag, but Nigeria’s voice, proving that leadership, art, and advocacy can stand proudly on the world’s biggest stage.
