Snip evens the gap a little more with a little heifer tonight!!!

Sarah comes in with with a little bull on this damp and dreary night.... this puts an end to the first calf heifers... had a little bit of every situation from this year 3 first time mommas, from couldn't get it out for the first, then one that acted like an old pro, then this one!!! 8 pm pretty sure she was going to have her calf. 9 pm definitely in labor. 10 pm head and front legs just starting to show. 1030pm...vanished!!! Finally found her about 1145 in a tree top right next to the creek in the corner hiding behind a big stump. She had it on her own, but hadn't stood up yet til I got there, I moved him a safe distance from the creek bank, and left her to clean up and bond. Sarah was a very attentive mother and cleaned him up very well. The problem was she couldn't figure out why he kept wondering past her head and trying to get to her back legs. She kept getting him back in front of her. So into the sled and up to the corral we went. A little flip on the rope, put on a halter and let him nurse. Then to the warmer for an hour, he is now completely dry and she stood for him to refill his belly so at 250am I am heading home to bed!

PS ordered a new flashlight from Amazon while waiting for him to warm/dry ...
