Looking back at our last two years, we wanted to share a quick message. 💙💚

First, we are incredibly grateful for every coach, athlete, and family who has chosen to be part of this journey. Seeing our program continue to grow is something we never take for granted, and we’re so excited to welcome so many athletes into the gym.

At the same time, one of the hardest parts of tryouts is knowing that we won’t be able to offer a spot to everyone. If we could, we truly would. Every athlete puts in time, courage, and effort just by showing up, and we don’t take that lightly.

No matter the outcome, we hope every player walks away knowing they should be proud of themselves for stepping outside their comfort zone and competing. Keep working, keep growing, and don’t let one day define your journey as an athlete.

There will always be a place for you at Shoebox, whether that’s through training, skill development, camps and clinics, or helping you navigate the recruiting process and find the right college fit. Tryouts are just one day and no matter today’s outcome, we hope everyone knows our door is always open, and we’ll always be here to support your growth as both a player and a person.

With tryouts tomorrow, we wanted to answer some questions!

If you have not registered, please do so today so we can plan accordingly. We are only accepting 40 kids in each tryout session and some are almost full.

If you have registered, please double check you are in the correct age group, we have quite a few kids signed up for the wrong session!


Will there be makeup tryouts?

At this time, we do not have makeup tryouts scheduled. We spent a lot of time exploring different options to see if we could make an additional tryout date work, but unfortunately we weren’t able to find a solution that would be fair and feasible for everyone involved.

If we have roster spots available after our scheduled tryouts, we will consider hosting a makeup tryout.

We truly wish we could accommodate every athlete who is unable to attend, but as a growing club, we currently don’t have the resources to offer multiple tryout dates. We appreciate your understanding and hope to be able to offer more flexibility as our program continues to grow.

Which age group should my daughter tryout for?

We have included the age chart for AAU in our story. Please note the cutoff is July 1st. We also can’t guarantee we will have a team for every age group. We have the staff and court time to support 6 teams this year and the teams we can make will fully depend on who we get at tryouts.

What days/times are practices?

All teams practice Mondays and Wednesdays

Youngest teams: 4:15-5:45

Middle group: 5:30-7:15

Latest Group:7:15-9PM
*age groups for middle and late times have not been decided

*we will only play one of these marked dates, we are waiting to see academic calendars to decide which one. Many of our athletes had conflicts with these dates last year.

Cost of Season:

$1890. This covers all tournaments, practices and jerseys.

No ages are guaranteed a team, we have room for 6 teams next year and it will all depend on what we get at tryouts. We appreciate all of your support as we continue to grow and are happy to answer any questions you might have! Registration is capped at 40 per session so sign up soon! If the waitlist becomes too long, we will add an additional tryout for those on the waitlist.
