Crystal City is making history! As part of this years budget, the City Council approved our first ever full time firefighter. Please welcome Mr. Corey Nengel. Mr. Nengel started with the Crystal City Fire Department as a junior firefighter. Corey is a 2018 graduate of Seckman Senior High School. Corey obtained his state certifications for firefighter 1 and 2 along with Hazmat operations and awareness shortly after graduation. In February of 2019, he started his first full time firefighting job with the City of De Soto Fire Department. In December of 2023 he left De Soto and went to the Herculaneum Fire Department where he remained until he accepted the full time firefighter job in Crystal City. Mr. Nengel is a 4th generation firefighter of the Crystal City Fire Department following in the footsteps of his great grandpa, grandpa, great uncles and his dad. Corey said he is looking forward to this new journey that the City of Crystal City has offered him. Welcome to the team Corey! 👏🏻👨‍🚒🚨 👏🏻
