Septum height is 10000% determined by your anatomy, it doesn't actually pass through your septum! It passes through a small space in the columella. It is almost pain free when done correctly. If we place it lower than the pain level goes up and healing it becomes much more difficult.
Plus I think its cute when they just peek out at you.
Always discuss your anatomy with your piercer. IT MATTERS!!!!!!!
