I tell first-time buyers this all the time because it's easy to fall in love with the first home that checks a lot of boxes.

The kitchen looks great. The natural light is perfect. The neighborhood feels right.

You're already picturing where the couch goes.

Then you tour a few more homes and start noticing things you didn't notice before.

Maybe another house has a bigger yard. Better storage. A more functional layout. A quieter street.

Suddenly, you're comparing instead of just reacting.

Nothing changed about that first house. You just gained perspective.

That's why I encourage buyers to see several homes before making a decision. The goal isn't to find the perfect house on day one—it's to understand what matters most to you so you can recognize the right home when you see it.

And if house #1 is still your favorite after house #6? That's usually a pretty good sign. 👊
