Col. Scott A. Oden, Aviation Commander of the 38th Combat Aviation Brigade, Indiana National Guard, was at the controls for this year's Indy 500 flyover — and the experience left a lasting mark.

"Flying over the track at the Indy 500 was truly an incredible experience. I was beaming with pride that the 38th Combat Aviation Brigade could execute this mission and represent the Indiana National Guard and the United States Army on such a public stage. Hearing the sound of the crowd from the cockpit as we flew around the track is a memory none of us will ever forget."
