Fall 2019 is underway and projects have already begun! Yesterday, Werner Steger's History of the U.S students received their copy of "No Pity: People With Disabilities Forging A New Civil Rights Movement" and heard from Linda Bertollozzi from DCC's Accommodative Services. They will be constructing a timeline of important milestones & achievements in the disability rights movement.

Layout & design will be constructed by Visual Arts students and will be on permanent display in the Accomaditve Services office.

Holly McCabe's illustration students have been working hard to create a tapestry representing the 18 agencies that are located in the Family Partnership Center. It has been an absolute pleasure to work with Kellie Wofford coordinating between the many students & agencies involved in this project. We can't wait to their work is unveiled- stay tuned!

On Saturday, April 20th & 27th, professional photographer and part-time faculty member Sean Hemmerle — whose work can be found in the collection of the Museum of Modern Art — held a Photography Masterclass for his students and community members. Using the Fall Kill as a case study, Hemmerle taught attendees how to share their “Poughtential Place” with the community through photography.

Following the class, students submitted their photos and poems for inclusion in a Community Gallery Show on May 3 from 5-7pm (First Friday) at the newly-opened Trolley Barn on Main Street.

This event is being produced by MASS Design Group’s Hudson Valley Design Lab in collaboration with Hudson River Housing, Sustainable Hudson Valley, Project for Public Spaces, Dutchess Community College, and Marist College with the support of a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts.
