Iphigenia’s ART Story

Born to an artistic family background, an architect artist great grandfather, from mother’s side and a poet writer father, I was expressing art qualities from early age.

Growing up in a broken religious home, I struggled my way through life finding my purpose and dreams and most of all my connection with God. A rewarding feeling to know God made me an artist and wants me to change my surroundings with what I have in me to express in beauty and purpose, in a spiritual aspect as well as in the physical beauty around me. A beauty that communicates constantly God’s love and care and connection with us, my journey began in my twenties going to art college and learning more about my gifts, my horizon of possibilities expended and I am challenged ever since.

I created IphigeniART about ten years ago, when I started volunteering on a local art center and became part of the board of directors at the same year. Since then my roll as an artists and a leader has expanded in selling art in art events and exhibiting and creating art, having monthly art events and hiring musicians for openings. Some years after I had developed a bimonthly art show for the community and it was an opportunity to discover young and old artists and beginners for the public. It was rewarding to see artists emerge from there and become more encouraged to follow their artistic path, like highschool kids emerge and middle aged people with great gifts but never saw hope in it, having them sell and celebrate their art to expand was amazing to watch.

I was happy to see that I was making a difference in the community as an artist, besides where would we be without art around us in the world.
