Today we are celebrating Connor Chee! This Navajo pianist and composer is renowned for weaving his classical piano training with his Native American heritage. Making a remarkable debut at Carnegie Hall at just 12 years old after winning a gold medal in the World Piano Competition, Chee has since made a significant mark on the music world. Chee draws inspiration from traditional Navajo chants and songs in his solo piano compositions. He has released four studio albums, including acclaimed works such as The Navajo Piano, which won Best Instrumental Recording at the 16th Annual Native American Music Awards, and his evocative piece "Beginnings," which earned the title of Best New Age Song.
