Good luck getting the words "ASHES! TO DUST!" out of your head. I'm still amazed by Joe Prewitt's vocals too – dude strikes a great balance between Chuck Schuldiner and John Tardy. If you haven't heard our reissue of Know Death's Buried Alive, what're you waiting for?

EMBALMER RECORDS IS HERE! I am thrilled to announce the first-ever reissue of Know Death’s sole 1993 demo Buried Alive. I hope you all enjoy this piece of unearthed death metal history. Truly. This is currently only a digital release, but I’m aiming to have physicals in hopefully late 2026.

The Embalmer Records reissue consists of all four songs from the original demo plus an unreleased show named Pick Your Knows from 1992 (minus the first song “Hagetha Wants Blood”, which sadly couldn’t be salvaged from the original tape). The concept for Pick Your Knows was simple enough – Know Death played all their songs, and the crowd in turn would vote on the songs they wanted to see get recorded for the demo. Hence the name of the show, Pick Your Knows.

The original Buried Alive demo was recorded, mixed, and produced at Sabella Recording Studios in Roslyn Heights, NY by Know Death, Jim Sabella, and Ken Gioia. The demo was also engineered by Know Death, Sabella, and Gioia. This reissue features newly-remastered audio by Esben Willems of Studio Berserk in Gothenburg, Sweden, and a new layout by Joseph Spiller.

Life gets in the way but death metal is eternal. Embalmer Records will launch, just a little different and a little later than anticipated.
