Fabrication Estimator Key Responsibilities:
-Review prints and specifications to develop detailed cost estimates
-Estimate material, labor, subcontracting, and equipment costs for custom metal fabrication jobs
-Work with the project team to evaluate manufacturability, lead times, and shop routing
-Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to confirm material pricing and availability
-Support inside sales by preparing timely, accurate quotes and following up as needed
-Track changes in scope and update estimates accordingly
-Assist in identifying opportunities to improve pricing strategy and shop efficiency

Fabrication Estimator Requirements:
-3+ years of experience in fabrication estimating (steel, stainless, structural, or custom metalwork)
-Strong blueprint reading and understanding of fabrication processes (cutting, forming, welding, machining)
-Familiar with job travelers, shop scheduling, and routing
-Proficient with estimating software, Excel, and general job costing methods
-Highly organized, deadline-driven, and able to manage multiple quotes simultaneously
-Strong communication and collaboration skills

-Load material using cranes or forklifts
-Run pre-programmed cut files (CAD team provides all files)
-Inspect and deburr parts after cutting
-Support operation of additional fabrication equipment: Accurshear, Hydraulic Press Brake, Dragon Tube & Pipe Processing Machine, Horizontal Band Saw
-Follow job travelers and quality requirements.
-Maintain a clean and safe work area.
-Communicate with the Shop Manager and Leads to support daily priorities.

Metal Processor Requirements:
-Fabrication or plasma table experience in a job shop or steel environment.
-Able to read blueprints and follow traveler instructions.
-Experience or willingness to train on shear, brake, saws, and tube equipment.
-Comfortable using cranes and forklifts.
-Detail-oriented, dependable, and willing to take initiative.
