Flint Regional Science & Engineering Fair

We were honored to have Matt Franklin from Senator Elissa Slotkin’s office join us at the Flint Regional Science & Engineering Fair. Recognizing student research at the government level is key to fostering the next generation of innovators. Our middle and high school students were thrilled to share their work! We have LOTS of exciting announcements to make from our March 14 event! First up our High School ISEF Finalists.
1st place winning $500, a trip to ISEF, and a UM-Flint 4-year scholarship : Diya Ramakrishnan with her project “Low Cost Breath-Based System to Detect Cancers” from Saginaw Arts and Sciences Academy
2nd place winning $400, a trip to ISEF, and a UM-Flint 4-year scholarship: Matlyn Miller with her project “Evaluating the Effects of Ash Contamination on Diatom Photosynthesis” from Saginaw Arts and Sciences Academy
3rd place winning $300, a trip to ISEF, UM-Flint 4-year scholarship: Zeyland Holden with his project “Clutch – A Hybrid Electrostatic Dry Adhesive Climbing Robot” from Grand Blanc High School
4th place winning $200 and a trip to ISEF : Michael Daoud with his project “Assessing the Environmental Impacts of Acid Rain, Microplastics, Air Fresheners, and Road Salt on Terrestrial and Aquatic Ecosystems” from Saginaw Arts and Sciences Academy
