A class-action complaint filed this week accuses Veterans United of steering veterans into higher-rate loans through a referral network they never knew existed.
Here's how it **allegedly** worked:
→ Veterans United sent leads to "preferred" real estate agents
→ Agents paid Veterans United 35% of their commission at closing
→ Agents who didn't steer clients back to Veterans United lost their leads
→ Borrowers thought they were dealing with a government program. They weren't.
Many veterans believed they were "required" to use Veterans United since it's "part of the VA."
