Whose Turn Is It is a diptych (a painting made of two parts) from my new Reminiscence series. This series explores the theme of memory, specifically, memories tied to Black life and joy.

Playing cards is a timeless way we pass the time. Spades is a cornerstone of Black culture, a card game steeped in tradition and community. For my generation, Uno holds that same cultural weight. It's a top-tier game that brings us together.

These two paintings capture an Uno game from both players’ perspectives. Each one has a chance to win. But the question remains: Whose turn is it?
