Code violations and fire hazards… 🔥

We uncovered a double-tapped breaker in a homeowners electrical panel from when the basement was finished years ago.

The “electricians” landed these two 14 gauge wires on a 20 amp breaker.

14 gauge wires are only rated for a maximum load of 15 amps! Without the proper overcurrent protection device installed these wires could have been overloaded until the insulation burned off and started a fire!

We made the repair to prevent the worst-case scenario in the future!

This homeowner is in the process of selling their home but the home inspector noted the dryer circuit breaker running a little warm.

We verified connections and replaced the breaker to ensure they don’t experience any problems and get them to closing!
