Join us at St. Mel’s every Saturday through October 10th from 8am–12pm in the schoolyard. You’ll find fresh meats, fish, bread, eggs, and farm-picked vegetables, along with specialty gifts and unique items.

We read in the Catechism of the Catholic Church:” The bodies of the dead must be treated with respect and charity, in faith and hope of the Resurrection.”
In 1961, the Passarella family opened a second funeral home in our section of Northeastern Queens, Frederick’s Funeral Home. Today, as part of the Dignity Memorial network, Frederick’s continues to provide compassionate care to our parishioners & neighbors who grieve the loss of a loved one.
We ask your prayers for the repose of the soul of Fred Passarella, longtime owner, who retired in 2012 and died on May 19th.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mel’s this Friday, May 22nd, at 12:00 PM.
