Flashback Friday!
Did you know that Vulcan used to produce lawn mowers?
From 1975 to 1996, Vulcan stamped the metal decks and assembled Southland walk-behind mowers right here in Foley alongside its traffic sign operations. As our main focus became aluminum fabrication and highway signage, the mower line was eventually discontinued.
Pictured is the last lawnmower ever produced by the Southland Mower Corporation. It was signed by all of the employees of the facility and is on display in our Human Resources building.
