So yesterday Forney Education Foundation opened the Turkey Drive sign up list to the families that had been identified by the school district as Economically Disadvantaged. Within 5 minutes all 300 spots were filled. As of yesterday there were 542 families on the waitlist. Every family on this list has AT LEAST one child in Forney ISD. We are talking about children going without food, and as two former teachers (running the Chamber) that is devastating. If you are looking for a worthy cause to give to this year, please consider donating to our Annual Turkey Drive (Forney Chamber of Commerce & Forney Education Foundation) . 100% of proceeds go to feeding LOCAL families a full Thanksgiving meal.

We will also be at Kroger (500 Marketplace Blvd, Forney, TX 75126) for the next two weekends between 10am-6pm trying to encourage donations of side dishes, turkey pans, etc. If you'd like to come to Kroger Forney, and purchase some corn, green beans, stuffing, gravy mix, roasting pans, etc. to leave with us as you exit the store, that would also be incredibly appreciated!
