Baseboards aren’t only to enhance and finish out an area or room. They actually are multipurpose. They help serve as wall protection from foot traffic or vacuums as well as a sort of insulation by covering any wall/floor gaps. This helps prevent drafts or water from damaging any drywall that can develop into mold. As our seasons change our walls and floors may expand or shift, having baseboards helps conceal those changes.
