Celebrating an unforgettable 2025! π
Last year, Diversify Whitewater hosted 9 event days, awarded 4 scholarships, and ran one multi-session paddling progression program from D.C. to Seattle. Together, we helped over 600 BIPOC paddlers and allies connect & learn new skills in paddling, helping to build a culture of inclusivity and belonging on the water πΆπ
None of this happens without community engagement. Over 200 volunteers, from professional guides to casual kayakers, showed up to donate their time, skills, and stoke to make it all possible. π¦ ππ½
Huge thanks to the Cooperative Action Fund, , and our fiscal sponsor for supporting these events, and to the local leaders and community organizers who powered them on the ground. If youβre able, donations help keep these events flowing β learn more and support at www.diversifywhitewater.org
Hereβs to an amazing 2025. See you on the river in 2026! ππ½

What a season on the water! π¦ Over two months this summer and fall, led the second year of the Diversify Whitewater Kayak Progression Program in the Pacific Northwest β and the growth we witnessed was incredible π€©. This year, the program doubled in size, featuring TWO cohorts and supporting over 30 new paddlers!
From learning the basics of kayaking and river running to perfecting the elusive paddle roll (see a sick combat roll in the last video!), participants built confidence with every session. By the end of the program, they were running Class III rapids β laughing, cheering, and celebrating every eddy and wave along the way. ππ½ π
Huge shoutout to Kallie for her amazing leadership, every volunteer who donated their time or equipment to make this program possible, and to everyone who showed up ready to learn, support each other, and build community on the river β¨. Thank you to and for sharing the stoke about this outstanding program ππ½
