Colorado State Trumpet Studio

Having fun with Larry Currey and Madison Sinan in the Larimer Chorale’s dress rehearsal today. For Bach’s Magnificat, Larry and I brought our Benge piccolos! Later I get to play a great solo with the otherwise unaccompanied choir on Ian David Coleman’s arrangement of “The Trumpet Sounds Within-a My Soul.” Great Saturday morning!

We were super grateful to have Daniel Kelly visit us today at CSU to work with our trumpet ensemble, give a recital, and give a masterclass just minutes before his recital (his wife Libby Vanatta played piano)!

The first Red Hot Chili Pepper Award this academic year goes to Freshman Performance Major, Lauren Smith, a really great trumpeter from Fruita, Colorado. Lauren is playing in Trumpet Ensemble, Brass Quintet, Marching Band and made it into our Jazz Ensemble I and Wind Symphony in her first semester! Congratulations!
