Ben's Topographic Designs
I make custom topographic wall art. Baltic birch is used for the topographic map and black walnut for the frame. Message me for a free custom quote and preview!
Today is the day! First topo on the new CNC. Took longer than I expected to build(maybe due to my sweet kids), but I got it done.
This is the same Horsetooth one I've done and it looks tiny!
Currently going at over twice the speed of my old CNC. It's also much more rigid and over twice the power of my old CNC. So the accuracy should increase. Excited to make some new big designs.
New CNC, new software, and new CNC bits. This is going to be fun!

The time has almost come....big topos!

Little topo break while I build a new CNC. This will enable me to make much larger topos, up to 4' x 4'! Can't wait to get this finished!

New first time topo done! The Island of O'ahu! This was a unique one because I also added in bathymetric data with the above ocean topographic data for an underwater topo of the ocean floor! Challenging and fun all at the same time. I used a deep pour epoxy slightly tinted blue so that the ocean floor can be seen.
This one took some work, but I think it turned out beautiful. Can't wait to get this one into the hands of the customer and see their reaction.

Another topo finished! This one was a fun one using my new laser cutter to cut out acrylic streets for a Fort Collins topo! Also added a little altitude meter in the corner.

New project. Bathymetry! This one was my first time laser cutting a lake for my cousin. No CNC used here, just a new laser cutter. 9 layers for depths. I hope to do some more in the future.
