Here’s a sneak peek to our November blog on designing a kitchen on a budget. In this project, our client wanted the warmth that wood cabinetry brings to a kitchen but could only afford our painted stock cabinets. We contemplated incorporating wood shelving or butcher block countertops, but because of maintenance and storage concerns, we decided against those options. Instead, we took a design risk and mixed painted shaker cabinets with slab-front laminate cabinets. Laminate cabinets are durable to wear and tear and are less expensive than traditional wood cabinets.
Additionally, by only using these cabinets in a few places, we still got the “look” without using wood-look cabinets in the entire kitchen. The result was a modern, warm, and unique kitchen at an affordable price. Stay tuned for the rest of our budget tips come November!
