A monster-loving quilter bringing you modern gothic twists on sewing classics!

More pics from Quilt Fest! This first pic features not only my sister and me, but also a quilt made by the first quilter in my family, my Great-Grandma, Rita Bartley. She hand-pieced and hand-tied the quilt on the right. Hanging to the left of it is my Rising Star quilt, the third quilt top I ever pieced and then it sat in a pile of unfinished quilts in my sewing room until last year, when my nephew, Tyler, longarm quilted it for me with this amazing angler fish design. (I tried to tag the ones I either knew or grabbed pictures of the tag but sorry to those I couldn’t tag!)

The rocked it at Quilt Fest today! It was great seeing so many guild-mates’ quilts in the show!

Finished the top! Such a quick, fun make. It’s just what I needed to get some sewjo back. And it’s a UFO off my list! I’m going to donate this one to my guild’s charity quilting program where we donate to a hospital’s ICU unit for patients being sent home on palliative care.

Working on a string quilt! This is the first string quilt I’ve tried and it’s been on my to-make list forever. The blocks are so quick to make! Especially when anything goes and I can just pull from all my strips I already have cut in my stash of scraps!
