Many thanks to our Coding in Geospatial panelists the other day:
Caitlin Mothes,
David Puckett,
and Lydia Kimball
Take-aways:
Should you incorporate coding into a geospatial education? Absolutely.
Should you incorporate AI into learning coding? Yes. - - BUT - - You need to understand the basics so you know how to write prompts, understand terminology, correctly interpret outputs, and break down error messages. AI can also be a great learning tool.
Do you need to be a "computer scientist" or "programmer" to write code? NO! But knowing a little can take your skills further and streamline workflows.
We did record the discussion, if you want the link, DM us!
