How do I hold space for my emotions when they are at war?

On one hand
-I am months for graduating with a masters degree
-I have been blessed with an amazing opportunity to work for an amazing non profit doing work I could only dream of as a kid
-I have been given the space to heal finally after the past year
-My amazing husband had a birthday 🥳

On the other
- Someone close to me was in a scary fall that they will be recovering from for a while
- I have been battling with anxiety dreams
- Now I’m also grieving the loss of a beloved family member

Two sides of life. To emotions I need to hold space for. Each experience more real then the last. Some moments I feel so at peace I’m floating on air. Others all I want to do is vanish away from the pain.

I used to think this self portrait was about my relationship with technical theater. Now I think it’s about finding space to live in the magnificent and the painful all at once.
