3 skincare lies you don’t need to believe:

✨1: Don’t put oil on your skin if your skin is oily.

This is such a common belief and is probably the most common barrier that we run into when discussing skincare with our customers. We are generally told that putting oil on oily skin will increase oil levels and skin aggravation. Utilizing the right kinds of oils on the skin can actually help to bring sebum levels back to a healthy amount by not stripping the skin of its natural oils- causing our oil glands to overproduce. Gentle non-pore clogging oils such as jojoba, sunflower, and black cumin seed oil all help to reduce inflammation and balance sebum levels in the skin.

✨2: You need a 12 step skincare routine to see results.

We are advocates for simplicity, but that doesn’t mean that simple has to be the same as non effective. Choosing skincare products that are multi-use, consciously curated, and contain high levels of active /bio available ingredients means that you don’t need drawers full of products.

✨3: I have to wash my face twice a day.

Over cleansing the skin can cause excess dryness and result in even more skin issues. We suggest using only water and toner in the am, and doing a deeper cleanse to the skin at night to support the natural cycle of skin function- using products to enhance our skins natural healing capabilities rather than trying to replace it.
