Illustrator Jimmy

Tested out an idea for my high schoolers tomorrow. Water color paper, randomly paint the colors on the paper, then a drawing pen after it dries and let something become.
I've been wrestling with the idea of teaching creativity. It's one of the most difficult things I had to grasp with since I've begun teaching. You can't simply let students do things, because then you're not teaching. But you also can't control every last inch of what the students create, because then creativity is lost.
Somewhere in the middle is a harder thing to latch onto.
This exercise where we help students discover a more substantial form within a simple, abstract image is something could help cultivate what I'm dealing for students.........
