Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue

Before 1912, Fort Lauderdale didn't have a formal fire department. Then a fire tore through parts of downtown, and volunteers became the city's first line of defense. Years later, in 1927, Station No. 3 opened its doors, the same building you can walk through today. Every artifact inside tells a piece of that story. Not just of fire, but of a city learning to protect itself.
