Mindfulness-based, EI coaching for leaders using our proprietary B.L.I.S.S. Framework for self-care. Why does this matter? My name is Gerri Sapinoso Hudson.

Someone asked me this week what the hardest part of my story was.

Looking back, it actually wasn't the crisis. It wasn't the loss.

It was realizing I had been running on autopilot for years — achieving, performing, holding everything together — without ever contemplating a truthful answer to the question:

"What do I need right now to nourish me?"
It made me cringe. (still does a little, tbh)

That question - asked honestly and answered honestly - is where my life really started to change.

It's also where BLISS™ was born.

If you haven't listened to my conversation with Ignite Your Extraordinary (Rita Ernst) on “The Story I'm Telling Myself” yet, this weekend is a good time. It's the most honest conversation I've had publicly.

Link in comments.

And I'd love to know: when did you last ask yourself that question?

Because that's where it begins. Not in a program or a framework. In the quiet, honest moment of asking — and finding safety in your own skin.

Join VBL's founder Gerri Sapinoso Hudson tomorrow, live on LinkedIn.

She spent most of her career being the person who holds things together. The one who showed up for others.

All of this came at a cost she didn't realize until it hit her like a knockout punch. She made it look manageable, until it wasn't.

Tomorrow, join Gerri as she sits down with Rita Ernst, Ignite Your Extraordinary on "The Story I'm Telling Myself" podcast to have the conversation about the moments that changed her life and the path she took in the aftermath.

She'll talk about what she believes it actually takes to lead well, regardless of title. About what happens when the scripts she followed stop working. About what it means to care for yourself as deeply as you care for everyone else.

Join us LIVE tomorrow — Tuesday, April 28 at 11:30 AM ET.

You can watch and participate on YouTube, LinkedIn, or Facebook. The link is in the comments.

This isn't metaphor. It's neuroscience.

When you're in back-to-back meetings, managing a team through uncertainty, and carrying more than you let on — your nervous system is running in fight-or-flight mode.

Your cortisol is elevated. Your HRV (heart rate variability) is low. Your capacity for clear, creative, compassionate thinking is narrowed.

A single intentional breath — slow exhale, longer than the inhale — activates your parasympathetic nervous system. It shifts the body from stress response to clarity. A plethora of science studies backs this up.

This is why Breathe is the first pillar of my BLISS™ framework.
Not because it's simple. Because it's foundational.

You cannot lead others well from a dysregulated nervous system. And you don't need an hour to reset. You need one breath — and the willingness to take it.

What helps you reset between high-pressure moments? I'm genuinely curious.
