The Yelp Charity Case.

Real talk: unless you’re in a city where Yelp is a religion, that monthly ad spend is probably just a charitable donation to a platform that’s seen better days.

I see so many practice owners who keep paying that Yelp bill because they’re "supposed to" or because they're scared their rating will tank if they stop. But in 2026, you’ve got to look at the cold, hard logic. It’s either making you money or it's a break-even trap.

If your cost per patient on Yelp is way higher than what you’re seeing from Google or Facebook Ads, you’re just subsidizing their survival. Most patients today are going straight to Google or social to find their next doctor.

Don’t be a philanthropist for a tech giant that doesn't provide a real return. Diversify that budget into high-intent local SEO or video ads that actually build trust. If the ROI isn't hitting your targets, it’s time to move on.
