Starting in 2018, Montelena began the largest vineyard replant of the Estate in the past 50 years. The work of this extensive replant continues today as we remove old vines and replant with a sense of optimism for our future. Pictured here is the recent replanting of Cabernet Sauvignon vines.

With each replanting, every decision from rootstock to clonal selection to row spacing or row orientation has been carefully optimized based on new data and institutional knowledge to continuously improve our wines and quality every year.
