"If you don't disrupt yourself, you will be disrupted" - Adopted

My appreciation for the Goldman Sachs One Million Black Women in Business mentoring program cannot be overstated. This program came at a time when a plethora of changes are happening in my industry, and when pivoting can no longer be considered an option.

I don't believe I have had to work this hard (still am) since shifting careers from engineering to behavioral health.

From the onset, this experience was life-altering. I was forced to confront aspects of my personal life - beliefs around money, my view of self, limiting core beliefs and narratives, my potential, and my capacity to evolve; as well as my business - value proposition, process efficiency, and scalability.

I was forced to have many uncomfortable conversations with myself, including acknowleding areas where I was just not up to par or even failing.

Thanks to OMBW, I now have a clearer understanding of my vision for my business, my financials, and what it will take to move to the next level.

Out of this experience, so far, I launched a new flagship service - GBH Solutions Group (gbhsolutionsgroup.com), that will focus exclusively on providing psychological support to mid-level and safety leaders in high-risk, high-stakes environment, through both individual and organizational avenues.

The program has come to an end and I am looking forward to our upcoming graduation in July. But, the real work is really just beginning.

Change is the one constant we will all encounter. I am truly grateful to Goldman Sachs and the Jumpstart team for positioning me to be the captain of this event.

This past weekend, I finally got to connect and break bread with the Atlanta sisterhood of Goldman Sachs OMBW, Cohort 9.

These women are such an inspiration.

As they shared their stories, aspirations, pursuits, and lessons learned from the OMBW experience, I felt even more charged up about my own journey.

What I really appreciate about this community is that, when we get to talking, you seriously begin to discover how much you are not alone. That many of the challenges I am facing, others are facing as well.

A few of us have made the commitment to remain supportive and to hold each other accountable, as we continue to implement the lessons learned.

We were never meant to do life alone. Grateful for community.
