Today, our hearts are broken for our dear friend and colleague, Carlos. He has spent years helping real estate agents capture the beauty of homes where new chapters begin. Behind every listing he photographs is someone who knows him for his warm heart, dedication, and willingness to go the extra mile. Now, as he faces the devastating loss of his mother, we’re asking our community to come together for someone who has quietly given so much to others.

Ten years ago, Carlos left his home in Venezuela to build a better life in the United States. Leaving his family behind, especially his beloved mother, was the hardest decision he ever had to make. Every sacrifice, every long day of work, was driven by the hope that one day they would be together again. His dream was to work hard, build a life in Florida, and one day bring his mother here so they could finally be reunited.

His mom’s health took a devastating turn. She developed a severe infection that quickly progressed to sepsis, and doctors urgently recommended that she be transferred to a hospital for life-saving treatment. Tragically, because of the earthquake, emergency responders were unable to reach her home and transport her to the hospital in time. Today, Carlos received the heartbreaking phone call that his beloved mother had passed away. After ten long years apart, he never got the chance to hold her hand one last time, tell her how much he loved her, or say goodbye.

Now, while grieving from thousands of miles away, Carlos is faced with the unimaginable task of helping his family in Venezuela lay his mother to rest. His father is now left alone in Venezuela after losing his wife, while Carlos mourns from afar, unable to be by his family's side. The family is struggling to cover the costs of cremation, funeral arrangements, and the expenses needed to give his mom the dignified farewell she deserves.
