We have a new development regarding the electrical training of Lee County plant operators. We learned today that the County is backing down from the electrical training we mentioned earlier. As of now the training will only be on what operators can do in situations that develop without having to go into control panels, wiring, and components. They allude to the previous revelation as being a "misunderstanding". Perhaps it is a misunderstanding or perhaps not, at least the operators will not be exposed to possible serious injury or death. For this we are all grateful. Being "at will" doesn't mean they couldn't change their minds on this at any time. To ensure that this doesn't happen in the near future, we need to bind together to be strong. Bind together for our health and safety. Bind together as a local union.
