Today, my heart is full as I continue celebrating one of my incredible Eagle mentees, Mr Harrison. 🎉

When Harrison first came across this business opportunity, life looked very different.

Mia Khan could not read or write.

But he understood something many people forget.

Education can change a life.

For seven years, the Afghan father travelled 12 kilometers every day to take his daughters to school.

Then he waited outside for hours until their classes were finished.

Not because it was easy.

Not because he had nothing else to do.

But because he wanted them to be safe.

And because he had a dream for them.

He wanted his daughters to become doctors.

In his area, there were not enough female doctors.

So while Mia Khan had never had the chance to get an education himself, he made sure his daughters had one.

Every day, he made the journey.

Every day, he waited.

Every day, he chose their future over his own comfort.

That is what love looks like.

Not always loud.

Not always rich.

Not always educated.

Sometimes it is a father who cannot read, sitting outside a school for hours, believing his daughters can become everything he never had the chance to be.

Quila Lee and her three daughters, Rakiya, Kamiya, and Kalaya, all graduated from Georgia State University on the same day. The family celebrated their bachelor’s and master’s degrees at the Georgia State Convocation Center.

For the daughters, the moment was more than graduation. They were walking beside their mother, the woman they call their role model and the glue of the family.

Kamiya and Kalaya studied Biology and plan to attend medical school. Rakiya earned her master’s in public administration, while Quila earned a second master’s degree in teaching.

Their story is a beautiful reminder that education can become a family legacy.
