In 2025, Spain’s junior golf calendar has been filled with major events that continue to strengthen the country’s reputation in youth development. The year opened with the Daily Mail World Junior Golf Championship at Anantara Villa Padierna (Marbella) from February 19-21, featuring 214 players from 37 countries. In June, Óliver de Wint and Diego Gross captured titles at the Spanish Infantil Championship, while the Global Junior Golf Open was held at Emporda Golf (Girona) in March.
One of the biggest developments this season has been the growth of hybrid competition formats. The Faldo Virtual Series, launched on January 1, 2025, gives juniors aged 7 to 21 the chance to compete through TrackMan simulators on famous courses such as St. Andrews, Wentworth, and Moonlight Basin.
Toptracer-powered ranges across Spain, including the 40-bay facility at Centro Nacional de Golf in Madrid, are also attracting thousands to the game. Monthly Toptracer Challenges continue to expand access to affordable, structured competition.
Although participation data is still emerging, the trend is clear: golf is becoming more accessible. Young players can now train and compete without the need for long-distance travel or elite club memberships, as live events and virtual tournaments help remove barriers of cost and geography.

“Par for the course” is one of those phrases we toss around when something predictable happens, it’s our way of saying, yep, that’s about what we expected. The term actually comes from golf, where “par” refers to the number of strokes an expert golfer is expected to take to complete a course, meaning you’re performing exactly as anticipated, no better, no worse. Over time, it found its way into everyday language. Nothing surprising, just par for the course.

His nickname is "The Mad Scientist," but he's also one of the best players in the game. Bryson DeChambeau certainly marches to a drummer all his own, and so far the results have been stellar.
He is known for his single-length clubs and his version of a one-plane swing, of which the latter he became interested after reading Homer Kelly's Book The Golfing Machine. He found it easier to execute the swing using single-length clubs, and later, at the suggestion of his coach Mike Schy, adopted large Jumbo Max grips.
Several years ago, De Chambeau became interested in long-drive competitions, and rebuilt his body to compete. He became a legitimate long-drive competitor, finishing second at the world championship in 2022. He reasoned that long driving would help him compete at professional golf, but he has since tempered his long-drive mentality.
