🌿 WEEKLY WEDNESDAY STAFF SPOTLIGHT 🌿
This week we're shining the spotlight on Kevin Scheiber, our St. Lucie County 4H Program Specialist! 👋
Join us in recognizing one of the dedicated team members helping educate and inspire youth through hands-on environmental education here at The UF/IFAS St. Lucie County Extension Office. 🌎💚 💪 Whether he's teaching water 💦 programs, working with students ✏️, or supporting the 4-H Educational Farm 🐄, Kevin is passionate about helping others connect with Florida's natural resources!!!‼
What does he love most about his job? ⁉️
💬 "I love that I can continue my teaching career in a unique way and work outside with an ever-changing schedule."
A few fun facts about Kevin! 👍
🌊 He's originally from Ormond Beach and has always loved living near the coast.
🌿 Kevin enjoys exploring new parks and natural areas every chance he gets. His favorite local spots include Indian Hills Recreation Area and the Oxbow Eco-Center.
🍎 Before joining Extension, Kevin was a teacher and actually has taught every grade level from kindergarten through 12th grade!
Many people see Kevin teaching at schools and working community events, but what they don't always see is the teamwork behind the scenes. 🙌 From helping care for the 4-H Educational Farm to supporting Extension programs across the county, Kevin is always ready to lend a hand. 👏
His message to the community?
💬 "I wish every resident knew the scope of what we provide. We teach in schools, help homeowners and businesses, offer educational classes, and so much more."
Please join us in thanking Kevin for his passion, dedication, and commitment to serving St. Lucie County! 💚 THANK YOU KEVIN FOR ALL YOU DO!! 🙏

💗 On Wednesdays We Wear Pink... Except This Year It Was Tuesday!
One of the many fun traditions of Florida 4-H Legislature is wearing pink on Wednesday. If we're being honest, we're not entirely sure where the tradition started, but like many Legislature traditions, it's one that participants look forward to each year!
This year, however, we were requested to wear green on Wednesday for a statewide group photo. While 4-H'ers love their traditions, they also know the importance of being flexible and adapting when needed.
So, in true Legislature fashion, delegates simply shifted the tradition and wore pink on Tuesday instead! 💗🍀
Traditions help connect generations of 4-H members and create lasting memories, but one of the greatest lessons of 4-H is learning to be adaptable, work together, and make the best of every situation.
We're proud of our St. Lucie County delegates for embracing both the fun traditions and the flexibility that make Florida 4-H Legislature such a unique experience.

🏛️ Day 2 at Florida 4-H Legislature! 🍀
Today, the halls of the Florida Capitol came alive as delegates officially kicked off Florida 4-H Legislature!
The day began with the Opening Session, where participants were sworn into their roles as Governor, Senators, Representatives, and Lobbyists.
Following the opening ceremonies, delegates got to work in committee meetings, where proposed bills were introduced, debated, and discussed. Lobbyists met with legislators to advocate for their bills, giving members valuable experience in communication, public speaking, and the legislative process.
From thoughtful discussions to passionate advocacy, Day 2 was filled with leadership, learning, and civic engagement. We are incredibly proud of all of our St. Lucie County 4-H members for representing our county with professionalism, confidence, and enthusiasm.
We're excited to see what tomorrow brings as Florida 4-H Legislature continues!
