I’ve got plants on the brain. How about you?

The first day of spring is approaching (March 20th) and these sunny days are coaxing me out of my cave and into the gardens. I found a couple of bulbs and a chunk of quartz. My lil minion, Ladybird, thought I might be offering up this season’s tasty treats as pictured here.

We found a polyphemus moth cocoon while weeding the garden and it hatched. I like naming and giving an identity to my insect pals so meet Rachelle. This little cutie is actually a massive queen.

Sticking your whole dang face into a basil plant is the purest form of aroma therapy. I love it. 😌🌿
I pruned about a foot off of my plant, removed the leaves, washed the leaves, let them air dry, threw them into the oven, and then jarred them up for future use.
It feels pretty great doing these little projects and learning new things along the way.

My basil plant was about 3 feet tall and overwhelming me, so I gave it a chop and am in the process of drying the leaves to preserve. 🌿✂️

Need to teach your cat a lesson after eating your newly propagated spider plants? Easy. Eat their face back.

Mind blown. After 10 days of leaving my basil cuttings in water we have roots!
Nature, you’re amazing.

I overwatered a succulent and it started to die. But my husband shared with me a way to propagate what remained. So I’m giving it a try! Stringing up the leaves on a piece of wire then wait to see growth.

Quinn’s debut as our little precious pruning princess on the Goof Boot page! 🥀 Quinn helps prune and water the geraniums. She may discard the dead flowers petal by petal, but she gets the job done with great precision.

Two things about lavender:

1. I always want to spell it “lavendar” as if ending in -ar portrays its royal beauty best.

2. My mom likes to pet this plant violently and then shove her hand in my face and say, “Smell my fingers!” 🤣
(She does that with all the herbs come to think of it.)

I’ve been pulling weeds in my momma’s backyard garden. Found a couple little friends hanging out too 💛 I’m very grateful for my mom and it’s fun to help tidy up her garden space 🍅🥬🌶️
